How Bail Bonds Work
The laws for bail differ from state to state and in Mississippi, there are a number of rules and regulations that are important to understand before posting bail or purchasing a bond from All American Bail Bonds.
Jackson, MI Bail Bonds
In Mississippi, a bail bond allows a criminal defendant to leave jail for the period between their initial incarceration and their criminal trial. A bail bond guarantees the appearance of a criminal defendant in a court of law. To obtain a bail bond after arrest, a third party, either a family member, lawyer or friend will have to arrange to have a bail posted on the defendant’s behalf through All American Bail Bonds. A bail bond traditionally costs 10% of the bail amount set by the judge. If the defendant flees and does not appear in court, the bond is forfeited to the court, and the bondsman is responsible for paying the rest of the bail.
